The “Nestlé Golden Chefs Hat Award” has been conducted and sponsored by Nestlé for over twenty years. The competitor’s mission is to produce four entrees, four main courses and four sweets from a "black box" of ingredients incorporating 5 Nestlé products in the recipes. The chefs of Australia salute Nestlé for their support and assistance in the development of young apprentice cooks and chefs in Australia. The Australian Culinary Federation coordinates the competition in all states in Australia. In 2007 the competition attracted 218 entrants. 67 industry experts and chefs formed panels from across Australia to judge the competition.
